Departement of National Cultural Heritage

HOME

The building for the Departement for National Cultural Heritage in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, was designed by Spanish architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg in 2001. A+D+P Architects acted for this project as a co-architect 2003 onwards. As project managers/draughtsmen Martin Schepers and Hazhar Saida took care of the final design, tender drawings and specifications. Later, Martin with two other colleagues arranged the execution phase. With this building, the government wants an exemplary role as principal. The high-profile sleek case comes here with innovation. The building has a library, offices and a laboratory together a site for cultural and exhibition centre KADE. Underneath the building there is a parking garage for approximately 110 cars. This project consists of 14,000 m² GFA and is completed in May 2009. The openings ceremonies were initiated by the Queen of the Netherlands.
