Sheltered housing complex "De Ommedijk"

Construction of the large-scale sheltered housing complex "De Ommedijk" in Leiderdorp - the Netherlands, a design by Ben Schildwacht and Ed van de Wetering of SHP-Architects in Zoeterwoude, started in February 2009. It contains 62 support-aided apartments, 110 senior citizen apartments, facility related functions, aid related services, two restaurants, a multi purpose theatre housing 200 people, commercial related services and an underground parking garage. SHP-architects operates in a Construction Team together with the principal Rijnhart Wonen and contractor Dura Vermeer. In this project, Hazhar Saida was the project manager at SHP Architects and worked with four colleagues to obtain the building permits, finalise the contract drawings and round up the first set of drawings for the execution phase coordinating with the involved parties throughout the process. This project is expected to be completed in the year 2011.
